The Town of Oyen is a small town located just west of the Alberta/Saskatchewan border. It lies directly between Calgary and Saskatoon, with a population of approximately 1200 residents. Oyen has three schools, Assumption Roman Catholic Elementary School, Oyen Public School, and South Central High School. The town of Oyen has five different restaurants, including a Subway. As well as a restaurant and lounge at the intersection of Hi-ways 9 and 41. This intersection is also home to the Co-op fuel and gas bar as well as a bulk fuel station and farm supply office. We have two hotels, The Antelope Inn, located in town and a Super 8, located next to the Co-op. In town we also have Prairie Bells Bed and Breakfast, as well as numerous ‘Mini Motels’ in various locations around town. Our small town also has a part-time dentist and physiotherapist, full-time eye doctor as well as three full-time doctors working in our newly renovated hospital. Two grocery stores, and both a Toronto Dominion and an Alberta Treasury Branch as well as a clothing and embroidery store, a flower shop and numerous other local businesses line the streets and help give Oyen it’s character. It’s a small town filled with friendly people and we have a lot to offer our visitors. Recreation wise, we have two dance studios, a new swimming pool facility with a full size water slide, an arena and curling rink, tennis courts, and so much more. Each year we host bull and bronc riding events, a boxing club, and various 4-H clubs.
