My experience with the Badlands Badger’s Baseball Academy allowed me to develop as a baseball player and to have the skills necessary to be successful. This is credited to the excellent coaching staff, great facilities, and the experiences that you attain as player. The expert knowledge offered gave me the opportunity to pursue a career in baseball past high school, along with skills that benefit me with the career path that I have chosen outside of baseball. The choice to join the Badlands Badger’s Baseball Academy is a great decision given the benefits they have to offer.
Jeff and Elliott provided me with an elite high school baseball experience for two years. While attending the Badlands Baseball Academy, I grew not only as a baseball player, but also as a man. The skills I developed while attending the academy have allowed me to successfully pursue baseball at the college level. The work ethic and accountability I learned from attending the academy will strongly assist me during my future endeavors. The town of Oyen is very welcoming and took me in as one of their own during my stay. High school baseball players looking to enhance their baseball skills and play at the college/professional level should definitely consider playing at the Badlands Baseball Academy.
When I came to the Badlands Baseball everyone made sure the transition away from home was easy for me and my family. I was lucky and received the best billet family which really helped, along with the whole community being invested to the academy. Everyone from the billets, to the teachers at the school, and all other members of the town worked hard to create a good atmosphere to not only play ball in, but also live in. Currently I play at Niagara County Community College in western New York, and I would not be here today if it was not for the coaches. Jeff Amos and Elliot Shrive worked hard to help me improve as a ball player on and off the field. Their influence provided me with many opportunities to play post-secondary baseball in both Canada and the USA, which helped me find the right school for me. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the academy and I would not trade my time there for anywhere else.
In the summer of 2011 I was asked to be a part of a new program, to be a part of something great. I took this opportunity without hesitation.
So there I was, 4 hours away from home, didn’t know anyone. Little did I know I was about to have one of the best years of my life.
At first I just liked the idea of being able to play baseball every day, but as time passed and my passion for the game grew I started to develop a goal. Oyen and the Academy provided me with the perfect conditions to grow as an athlete and as a person. I can honestly say that the opportunities and support I received during my one year in Oyen was imperative to what I have accomplished today. Every person I met during my time in Oyen impacted my life in a positive way.
